I’m so excited to share two pieces of news with you!

New book!

Rock by Tracy MarchiniRock, my anthology of YA short stories, will be published on September 6, 2016! Rock is collection of seven music-inspired short stories across multiple genres, including dystopian, light sci-fi, contemporary and fairy tale YA. Each short story in the playlist takes the original feel of song that inspired it and twists it in a way that creates an entirely new and unique story. You may have already read some of the stories, including The Engine Driver and Lover I Don’t Have to Love. I’m excited to add new, never before published stories that are exclusive to the Rock collection! If you are a blogger and would like to receive an ARC before publication, you can sign up here.

New website!

If you’re reading this, you may have already noticed my shiny new website. MORE IMPORTANT: LOOK AT ALL THE DUCKS! My new website, designed by Stefanie at beetifulwebs.com, should make it easier for us to keep in touch (particularly if you’ve also joined The Quacktory). I absolutely love the new book pages (check out the book page for Rock!) and the colorful home page. Take a look around and let me know what you think!

Other notes!

I’ll be participating in Multicultural Children’s Book Day again this year! If you’re a book blogger or an author of a multicultural children’s book, you can sign up to participate here. (Also, feel free to read last year’s MCCBD interviews with Jaqueline Jules and Natalie Whipple.)

You may also be wondering what’s going on after my hospital trip in May. As it turns out, your gut affects so many other body systems that I’m having all sorts of secondary issues even though the primary infection is gone. Random things like fatigue, reactive arthritis, and not being able to eat or drink the things I used to without being miserable the next day. That said, on a day-to-day basis, I’m feeling much better than I was back then and am slowly working my way back to my normal self. (Or, at least, as normal as I ever was!)

I also went on another writer’s retreat back in October. I spent a week in a cabin working on a picture book revision that was requested by an editor, and spent more time working on Rock. (Did I mention it’ll publish on September 6th?!)

Here’s a look at our beautiful cabin:

And, here’s a pic of that most important of writing accessories – fuzzy slippers!

I am the bright pink ones, of course!
